A  W E L C O M I N G   H O M E. The contemporary shamanic soul retrieval ceremony is a spiritual practice based upon ancient indigenous healing traditions. It is considered transpersonal in nature and includes elements of energy and vibrational medicine. The source of this beautiful ceremony begins nearly 40,000 years ago, predating all conventional medicine and therapies that are used today. Because these practices have endured for tens of thousands of years, and are common across most cultures throughout history, shamanism and soul retrieval are seen as truly remarkable forms of healing and spirituality.

Soul retrieval embodies the shaman’s greatest objective: to bring medicine to his or her people that facilitates the integration of soul, mind, body, and right relationship to the environment. Through prayer, sacred objects and plant medicine, drumming, and journeying to non-ordinary reality; and with the assistance of spirit helpers, ancestors and power animals, the shaman gathers and returns the fragmented portions of our souls, restoring us to wholeness. It is believed that in this way each will become complete and able to live to their full potential as human beings.

In recent years there has been a resurgence of shamanic healing methods offered by healthcare practitioners and spiritual advisors alike in fields ranging from the allopathic medical doctor to the alternative acupuncturist, from the minister to the psychic. Blending these time-honored rites with contemporary, scientific techniques holds the promise of a new and more holistic path to well-being and integration. Today, shamanic practitioners are using ancient practices originating from native tribes all over the world to treat their patients and clients. In the United States these practices are often based on customs and teachings from traditions as far north as Alaska, extending south to the Amazon, and reaching across the Pacific to the islands of Hawaii.

Life after soul retrieval:

If you've had a soul retrieval you know that the days and weeks following the ceremony are not only deeply transformational but often really challenging.

It's important to keep in mind that your integration process isn't a race to be won, or an assignment to complete. Rather, it's a time of shifting into your new dream, and setting the stage for this next level of experience.

Remember the importance of community. One of the major causes of soul loss is isolation. So, check in with yourself: "Who is here to welcome me home?" Is it friend, lover, or family? Pets? Colleagues?

Your practitioners are also great supporters of your integration through counseling and body or energy work.

Your home and environment have been waiting for you too. In the shamanic world, everything (including material objects) is alive, so reintroduce yourself to your space—home, office, car.

Reconnecting with the natural world is an absolutely vital part of integration to
o—make time to be with animals, plants, rocks, and the elements.

The planet is so happy to have you home and so are we!
